Rideshare and it’s complexities worldwide.

Viewing the basic process from afar, the action of providing a service to people or personnel which includes taking them from one place, and dropping them at another seems quite a straight forward affair. However, even in the not so distant past, when taxis and cabs ruled the Industry, many issues were managed and dealt with both by management and in some cases more extreme the Police Force or governing body. What has changed since Rideshare companies and their Apps have become adopted by the general public?

The ideology of getting from one place to another has a new realm of thinking. With this line of thought, if now we look closer, there are easily identifiable issues one may face in transit, as there are with a taxi or cab. Your driver may be unsafe. He may be unlicensed. He may be late. And in Uber’s case he may not even be a real Uber driver. To tackle an Industry with such a close face to face experience with customers, the pure reliance on the app to perform at a high level of service is unfounded, and it needs to be backed by a behind the scenes “vehicle”, excuse the pun.

The Taxi and Hire Car Industry and other services need to align their operations and tag their service in ways that have not yet been demonstrated. A strong business model has been proved time and time again to be one that has structure, a high level of recording actions, efficient storage (ie CLEAN), ownership of challenges and how to respond (an action plan), and collaboration! Collaboration closely intertwines with teamwork. A strong team of employees and workers and maintaining that connection when operating is the foundation for benefiting the Industry. May the best team WIN!
